Since the Supreme Court ruling of November 2024, gambling regulation in Nigeria is mainly a matter for the states, while the National Lottery Regulatory Commission keeps a federal role, mainly in the FCT. Several northern states with Sharia penal codes restrict or ban gambling. What the footer says, clause by clause
The 1win license wording sits at the bottom of the 1win.ng pages we opened and makes three separate statements. The footer says the website is operated, and the services provided, by BID Entertainment Limited. It then says the company acts under National Sports Betting Permit No. 00000045, “granted by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission”. Finally it says the company is licensed under License No. OYSGB/CASB/2592001 by the Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board.

What each document can and cannot tell you
The federal permit refers to sports betting, so on its own wording it does not describe the casino. The Oyo State licence comes from one state board, and a state licence is issued under that state’s law; it does not by itself say how Lagos or any other state treats the same service. The “NDP Act 2023 Audit Compliant 2024” mark refers to Nigeria’s data protection law and is again the site’s own label. None of the footer mentions an offshore licence, and this guide does not add one.
How to check the numbers yourself
A number on a website is a claim until the issuer confirms it. Take the permit number to the NLRC and the licence number to the Oyo State board through their official contact channels, and ask whether each is current and issued to BID Entertainment Limited. Check also that you are on 1win.ng: a lookalike site on another address is covered by none of these documents.
Is 1win real or fake: what the phone checks saw
The site behaves like a working sportsbook and casino, with real screens behind the home page. On 08.10.2026 our editor saw the sign-up form, the naira cashier, the bonus card, the Terms, the Responsible Gaming page and live chat; on 13.10.2026 the sportsbook menu, the prices and the casino catalogue; and in our check on 14.10.2026 a tester in Nigeria read the cashier limits, the rules and the verification screen.

- The first-deposit bonus card printed its minimum, maximum, wagering, cap and end date.

- The casino carried studios such as Pragmatic Play, PG Soft and Evolution, with demo play marked on most slots.
Terms printed in this much detail show a working site, but they are not proof of payment. The test that matters most, a withdrawal arriving, was outside our checks.
Is 1win safe for money, data and devices
Is 1win safe is a question with three parts, and the evidence differs for each.
Money
Pressing “Withdraw” opens an “Identity verification” screen before any withdrawal form, method or limit appears, so payout limits cannot be read in advance. The rules state the speed: up to ₦65,000 in 1–60 minutes, larger sums up to 5 days, plus up to 3 business days at the bank; our checks did not test it. Section 4 of the Terms lets 1win request an ID, a NIN, proof of address or a payment statement at any time, and a player who does not supply them within 7 calendar days can have the balance held and the account closed. The verification page opens with a liveness selfie, and the length of the review is not stated. The identity check before a first payout covers the documents and the time support gave.
Data
The footer’s data-protection mark and the Privacy Policy link are the site’s own statements. Registration asks only for a phone number and a password, so the personal data handed over at sign-up is limited until identity verification. On 14.10 the site’s SSL certificate, issued by Google Trust Services, was valid until 03.12.2026.
The app
On 14.10 the “Install app” window on 1win.ng had an iOS tab, which adds a home-screen web app through Safari, and an Android tab. An app taken from that window on 1win.ng comes from the operator; a copy from a chat group or another address does not.

Support and account rules
Support is the weak point on trust. The site states 24/7 live chat, yet on 08.10 a bot answered at once and no person joined within 10 minutes, and there is no help centre to fall back on. Two general rules are worth reading before a deposit: under 2.10 a dormant account, inactive for 12 months, can be charged a monthly fee, and under 8.5 the maximum stake can be limited without notice.
